How a Makeup Artist Removes Makeup the Spa Way

As a makeup artist, it’s important that I have a great way to easily and effectively remove cosmetics of varying stubbornness (hollerin at you waterproof mascara!) so I still have hydrated clean skin before bed.

The award winning Elemis Pro-Collagen cleansing balm ($64) is thick and slippery, similar to the consistency of vaseline. Rubbing in circular motions and sweeping the balm away with a warm washcloth is simple, and gets rid of all my makeup quickly. Only use a dime size amount each night, mine has lasted me over 6 months already.

The balm can also serve as a hydrating mask and aromatherapy treatment with ingredients like chamomile and eucalyptus. Such a nice way to unwind!

There’s no need to pass out with your full face on because taking off your makeup is a chore (i’ve been guilty way too many times). Treat makeup removal like a mini spa treatment instead, cause enough of those little de-stressers in your day may just lead to the ability to easily fall asleep – remember that?

Enjoy your fresh skin!
